In 1935, Sir Andrew Caldecott (郝德傑) was appointed governor of Hong Kong. His tenure was the shortest in Hong Kong colonial history, for he was appointed the second last governor of Ceylon a little more than a year later to handle the threat to the British administration caused by the overwhelming national liberation movement in Ceylon. When arriving in Hong Kong to assume the Governorship, Caldecott, unusually, elected to wear civilian dress, something that would not happen again until the arrival, in 1992, of the last colonial Governor, Chris Patten.

Chris - you might want to think about taking pictures of Mary Knoll in Stanley. The setting is gorgeous and the chapel at night with the lights low is charming and intimate. I actually need to take a pic of that setting for an upcoming church event. If you are interested in partnering please let me know.

Meanwhile, love your site and as I am sure you are aware... you are a fantastic photographer.

OMG, I stumbled on your blog tonight and saw this posting, I'm so happy. I never thought I would see the covered playground in such vivid colors again, and the swimming pool where I competed in. Thank you, thank you for these fabulous shots. I'll come visit again soon.
