Theme: The candlelight vigil will be held to commemorate those who were killed in the June 4th Massacre in China and express our eagerness for democracy, freedom, human rights and rule of law.

4 June,1989 People’s Liberation Army had killed civilians at Tiananmen square with troops and tanks, killing thousands to quell a "counterrevolutionary rebellion" or later called it the "1989 political storm" .

Before the candlelight vigil, Ma Lik (馬力), Chairman of the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong (DAB), a pro-Beijing political party in Hong Kong, questioned whether people could be flattened into meat pancakes by tanks during 1989 June 4 Tiananmen Square massacre : "So find a pig and test if it can be turned into a meat pancake!"
