More than 5,000 supporters of ex-Commercial Radio station host Raymond Wong Yuk-man (Mad Dog) attend the candlelight vigil at Chater Garden, Central. He believes Commercial Radio was under pressure from China and Hong Kong Government to fire him.

July 1 March : Hope for Full Democracy

Although Tung Chee Hwa was stepped down (resigned). It still have 21,000 Hong Kong people joined the 7.1 March to request for more Democracy.

This year, Civil Human Rights Front (香港民間人權陣線聯盟) which organises the protest hold 7.1 Mock Referendum to vote for Full Democracy before the start of the march.
