Thousand people were waiting outside The Lee Gardens (利園) to buy British designer Anya Hindmarch's bag in Hong Kong. Hundreds of whom had queued overnight. The asia limited edition I'm not a plastic bag sold or HK$120 (US$23). The bag selling only 2,000 in Hong Kong.
Police had to be called in as the crowd demanded to be let in for the Anya Hindmarch I'm not a plastic bag's launch.

The place looking like a rubbish dump after the crowd discarded plastic water bottles and other refuse.

The police try the claim down the angry crown, but failed.

The crown did not trust the store's assertion that the bag had sold out, and get inside the Lee Garden.

The shop were also mobbed by people without tickets. Hong Kong police were asking people to disperse but many refused to leave, shouting, 'Open the store!'.

Omg...seriously, it wasn't as crazy in UK ppl just queued up one hr in advance.
Your pictures are good. I just wonder how you could have so much time to take pictures at anytime you want as if you don't have to work? Hahahahaha...

this is crazy..haha... but i think the bag looks great too... wonder where can i get it in singapore..
It doesn’t really matter where it’s made, or what it’s made out of… The point is, people who like this bag will want to use it and that in itself can reduce the consumption of plastic bags.
The goal wasn’t to diminish child labor or cheap labor in China.
If people like this bag and decide to use it as an alternative to plastic shopping bags, then the message and goal is effective.
People who want this bag know its intended purpose and ultimately it’s a personal choice to stop using plastic or not. The bag itself doesn’t make a difference, it’s the attitude people adopt.
The message is boldly imprinted on the bag so it’s promoting awareness and a 2nd look at things.
Like if you bring it to a supermarket where everyone is packing their stuff in plastic, they might think twice next time.
----BTW, don't be fooled by the price drop of these bags on ebay, there are tons of fakes out there, over half of them are sold from China now. Beware of the lack of pictures, new sellers with little or no feedback!!!
