"Pro-democracy camp" (民主派) is a frequently used jargon by the media and academics to refer to the politicians and social activists in Hong Kong who advocate faster pace of democratisation and implementation of universal and equal suffrage. On issues of political and constitutional development it is often in opposition to the Government, nevertheless in terms of political spectrum members of the camp represent a very broad base, from those representing working class interests to the middle class and professionals.
