flooding. Trash cans, trees, street signs, scaffoldings, and hung-up advertisments collapsed. The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Gale or Storm signal at 10:45 p.m. on June 24, 2008. As it has gradually weakened while making landfall, the maximum winds were at about 86 km/h. Fengshen has also caused lanslides and thunderstorms. The wind has brought severe damage and is strongly wrecking the city. The Strong Wind Signal No.3 was hoisted at 11:15 a.m., June 25, 2008.

Up to 7 p.m., more than 50 millimetres of rainfall were generally recorded over the territory, whereas more than 100 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over Hong Kong Island and the eastern part of the New Territories.

Goddess of Democracy
Stock Photo ID: hkdigit-080604-134402The Goddess of Democracy (民主女神)was a 10-meter-tall (33 ft) statue created during the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. She had stood for only five days before being destroyed by soldiers of the People's Liberation Army in the assault on Tiananmen that would end the Democracy Movement.
This is a replica erected at a vigil attended in Victoria Park, Hong Kong since June 4, 1996.

Hong Kong: 4 June 2008 - More than 48,000 Hong Kong people full up about 6 football filed join candlelight vigil to remember June fourth massacre in Beijing 19 year ago.
4 June,1989 People’s Liberation Army had killed civilians at Tiananmen square with troops and tanks, killing thousands to quell a "counterrevolutionary rebellion" or later called it the "1989 political storm" .
Light up the candle for the death of the Tiananmen Square massacre
Kids will teach what happen 19 years ago.
Teenager will learn what happen.
Let the Candle Burn. The flame in people's hearts will not die, people will not forget and history will not just disappear.
"Don't forget June 4 ..."

How to get there : Take the MTR to Central and make your way to the J2 exit of the Central MTR station. Turn right, through Chater Garden, cross Queen's Road Central and make your way up Garden Road. You will pass the Bank of China Tower and Citibank Plaza on your left and St John's Cathedral on your right before arriving at the terminus, which is to your left.
Company Profile : The Peak Tram is one of the world's oldest and most famous funicular railways. Opened in May 1888, it has made daily journeys connecting Hong Kong's Central business district to The Peak ever since. The double reversible funicular railway, as it is technically known, rises from 28m to 396m above sea level along a 1.4 km track with a gradient of between 4 to 27 degrees. Among Hong Kong's most popular tourist attractions, it terminates at the new Peak Tower shopping and entertainment complex - and one of the world's greatest panoramic views – the Sky Terrace.
